Dry, Dryer, or Dried Stiff
We have had a week of breakdowns and I am not talking about the typical kid throwing a fit breakdown. Our week started out with the illustrious "A- Team" van giving up the ghost and so we were down to being a one car family for a few days. Ryan's parents went out of town for Labor Day Weekend and were very kind and let us borrow one of their vehicles. Our dryer decided to stop working this same week as well. We were trying to decide what to do about both the car and the dryer, whether we wanted to pay to fix the old things or just go buy something different. So laundry built up until we were needing clean clothes. So I decided that while we were still trying to figure things out the least I could do is wash the laundry and air dry everything. So I put things on hangers and hung them everywhere that was possible (door knobs, drawer handles etc) and then when I ran out of hangers I started laying the clothes out on flat surfaces (my bed, upside laundry baskets, etc). Here is a few pictures of what my room looked like with one load of laundry air drying.
I am so grateful for dryers and for the electricity that we have to run them. Air drying takes a lot longer and all of the clothes get super stiff.

My dad is such a handy guy to have around. He came over one night and took the dryer completely apart to figure out why it stopped working. He discovered that it needed a simple, small part. He came over another day and not even five minutes later I had a working dryer again. He is so generous with his knowledge, skills and especially his time. My dad is always there when we need help with anything. I love my dad so much! Thanks Dad!

Those pictures totally remind me of drying my laundry down in Provo. We would have clothes strewn all over the house.
That is awesome that dad was able to figure out what was wrong with the dryer! Yay Dad!
My dryer just quit too! We don't realize how much we rely on our appliances! It was terrible! I had to make several trips over to my in-laws house each day for about 3 days, then Jason brought a new dryer home.
At least you still had your washing machine. That would have sucked!!
That stinks! Life without a washer and dryer is hard! I hate crunchy clothes that don't get dried in the dryer...no fun. Good thing James was able to fix it for you, he is so handy!
Dad says that he got lucky and had help from Matt & an appliance friend to coach him through it.
So glad that a $22 part took care of it. Dad is just glad to help. :)
OH! I Feel your pain! Sounds like there's some sort of Dryer break down epidemic! I bet it's a conspiracy by the government to cut down on energy consumption in America... I know that besides my AC- my Dryer was ALWAYS running!...THEY FOUND US!!! :D
