Burley Spudman Triathlon 2008!

A hour or so before the triathlon starts, we are all at the park freezing. It was a little cold before the sun popped up. We weren't expecting that....we had dressed for the heat later on that day.

Ryan is getting ready for the race. He is putting stuff on his wrists and ankles to make the wet suit easier to get off when he gets out of the water and ready to start biking. It was funny to sit and people watch while everyone was getting ready for the traithlon to start. It is interesting to watch all of the different ideas that people have to make their transitions as quick as possible. Some people rub deodrant all over to help get the wet suit off.

Everyone in Ryan's division got in the water and got ready to start.

Are you ready? On your mark, get set, GO!!! I like to swim but getting in this river at 7:00 in the morning just doesn't sound very good.

There goes Ryan! He isn't hard to miss in his yellow! Good thing his favorite color is bright and easy to find.

Trevor and Jenessa are excited as they wait for their dad to come running down the last stretch to the finish line.

Here he comes!!

Run Ryan Run!

1 mile swim, 26 mile bike ride, 6.2 mile run. Good job Ryan! We are proud of you!
